Upcoming 2006 NFL Football Season

This season is expected on 7 to start September and the opening match kicks include the Miami Dolphins play the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at 20:30 Eastern Time Clock (ET). The regular series of games begins on Sunday 10 September, with the Indianapolis Colts, the New York Giants play in New York. Minnesota Vikings at Washington Redskins followed by 07:00 ET, the San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders at 10:15 clock ET: So on the night of Monday 11 September there will be a doubleheader.

Three games are expected to be played on Thanksgiving Day. Besides the traditional annual Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys home games during the day to travel (which the Miami Dolphins at 12:30 pm ET Tampa Bay Buccaneers Clock clock at 16:15 ET or host), Denver Broncos, the Kansas City Chiefs by 8 ET clock face.

The season ends on New Year's Eve, 31 December. Super Bowl XLI Super Bowl final of the 2006 season was on 4 March 2007 in the Dolphin Stadium in Miami Lakes, Florida instead of after the season ends and the Pro Bowl in Hawaii.

2006 will mark the first year that the NFL will use a "flexible scheduling" system of the last seven weeks of the regular season. The system is designed so that the league has the flexibility in selecting games to air on Sunday evening, the best equipment brands current function. This system is designed to prevent especially the losers game airing in prime time late in the season, while at the same time allows the surprise team of the playoffs potential the opportunity to play at night. In the flexible programming, all games begin on Sunday affected in the weeks, the time of 1:00 ET/10am PT, except played in the Pacific or Mountain Time Zone, which will have a start time from 16:00 ET/1pm PT (or 4:15 ET / 1:15 PT, if there is a two-game weekend.) On Tuesday 12 days before the games, the league will move one game for the first time, and possibly move one or more sets of slots 13:00 04:00 slots. In the last week of the season, the league was just six days to move the games before the competition so that all TV stations will be a game that has playoff implications broadcast.
